Orlando is unique among Florida solar markets: the city of Orlando is served by OUC (Orlando Utilities Commission), while most of the surrounding metro is served by Duke Energy Florida. Net-metering rules differ. OUC runs its own retail-rate net-metering tariff for residential systems up to 10 kW; Duke Energy Florida follows the statewide PSC Rule 25-6.065. OUC or Duke? Orlando’s two-utility map
The city of Orlando proper is OUC territory; Winter Park, Apopka, Lake Mary, Sanford, Kissimmee, Lake Nona’s edges, and most of Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties are Duke Energy Florida. Permitting in greater Orlando
Residential solar permits run through the City of Orlando, Orange County, Seminole County, or Osceola County building departments depending on address. Goldin handles all submittals, inspections, and utility interconnection paperwork.

How much do solar panels cost in Orlando, FL? A typical 8–12 kW Orlando residential system runs $24,000–$36,000 installed; a Tesla Powerwall 3 adds roughly $15,000–$17,000. The federal residential clean-energy credit (Section 25D) expired for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. Florida still exempts solar and battery equipment from sales tax (F.S. 212.08(7)(hh)) and excludes the added home value from property-tax assessment (F.S. 193.624). Exact pricing comes from a per-roof design and production model, which Goldin Solar provides free.

Can a Tesla Powerwall provide whole-home backup in Orlando? A single Powerwall 3 typically backs essentials (refrigeration, lights, internet, ceiling fans, well pump). Two Powerwalls usually carry a central AC plus essentials. We design backup from your circuit-by-circuit critical load schedule.
