Does FPL pay for excess solar in Fort Lauderdale? FPL credits excess generation at the retail rate month-to-month; year-end excess is paid out at FPL’s avoided-cost rate, which is well below retail. Can solar work on a flat or low-slope Fort Lauderdale roof? Yes. We use ballasted or mechanically-attached racking on flat roofs and tile-hook or Roof Tech assemblies on tile. Modified-bitumen and TPO roofs get a roof-condition assessment before install.

How long does Fort Lauderdale solar permitting take? City of Fort Lauderdale typically turns permits in 15–25 business days; unincorporated Broward County runs 15–30 business days. Goldin handles all submittals, inspections, and FPL interconnection.
