Is there still a 30% federal solar tax credit in 2026?

Not for homeowner-purchased systems. The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit (IRC Section 25D) was ended early by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (July 2025), which moved its termination to December 31, 2025. If you placed a homeowner-owned system in service on or before that date, you can still claim it on your 2025 return. For homeowner-purchased systems installed in 2026 and later, Section 25D is no longer available.
